Shipping Methods & Costs
Our standard shipping method is ground shipping through major carriers like UPS and FedEx. This method is free on all orders over $50.
For orders under $50, you will be charged a flat $5.95 shipping fee per order. This makes it affordable to place smaller orders with us if needed while encouraging larger, batch orders to qualify for free standard shipping.
For standard shipping, expect transit times of about 5-7 business days from when your order ships out. Some outlying areas may take 1-2 days longer. See Shipping Timelines below for more details.
If you need your order faster than our standard free shipping time frame allows, we also provide expedited shipping options for an additional fee based on how fast you need delivery:
- 2nd Day Air: Your order ships out quickly and arrives within 2 business days, with delivery by the end of the 2nd business day after it ships. Cost is $15 per order.
- Next Day Air: Your order arrives by the end of the next business day after shipment. Cost is $25 per order.
Expedited shipping cut-off times are 4PM Central in our fulfillment center. Orders placed after the cut-off will ship the next business day. Weekend or holiday placements do not count as shipping days.
To get your delivery as fast as possible with expedited shipping, be sure to get your order in before 4PM Central, Monday through Friday.
Select physical White House Black Market store locations offer in-store pickup when you place an order online. This allows you to ship the order to the store closest to you rather than your home.
When items arrive at the store, typically within 4 business days, you’ll get an email that your order is ready for pickup. You then simply visit the store during business hours, confirm your order details and ID, and the store associate will get your items for you.
This is often the fastest option since it avoids residential shipping time! It also saves you direct shipping costs. Simply select the store pickup option during online checkout if it is available near your location.
We are currently only able to ship physical product orders within the 48 contiguous United States. We do not have international shipping capabilities at this time. Please check back as we continue expanding our services.
To set accurate expectations, below are our average transit days in transit for standard shipping based on where in the country your delivery location is:
- WA, OR, CA, NV, ID – 5 business days in transit
- AZ, CO, NM, UT – 5 business days in transit
- ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, TX, MN, IA, MO, AR, LA – 5 business days in transit
- MS, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, TN, KY – 6 business days in transit
- WV, VA, MD, DE, NJ, PA, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME – 7 business days in transit
Alaska & Hawaii

These timeframes reflect transit days only once the order ships from our fulfillment center. It does not include processing time before shipment or potential delays from the carrier.
Shipments to rural routes, P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, and other remote destinations may require additional transit time. Contact Customer Service if your delivery does not arrive within the stated timeframe so we can investigate.
For expedited shipping, orders typically arrive within:
- 2nd Day Air: 2 business days after shipment
- Next Day Air: Next business day after shipment
Shipping Notifications & Tracking
Communication and transparency are priorities for us when it comes to order fulfillment and shipping. We want you to feel informed each step of the way on your order’s progress to your door.
Here is the communication timeline you can expect:
Order Confirmation Email: After you finish checkout, you receive an immediate email confirmation with your order details for reference.
Shipping Notification Email: Once your order ships from our fulfillment center, you will receive another email notifying you of the shipment. This includes your carrier name and tracking number.
Tracking Updates Emails: If any delays or exceptions occur after the carrier picks up your package, you may receive additional tracking updates emails notifying you.
Delivered Confirmation Email: A final email confirmation will be delivered once your order changes to a delivered status in our system.

Returns & Exchanges Shipping
If you need to make a return or exchange, we offer free shipping both ways on your reorder to get you the right items with no extra hassle. See our Return/Exchange Policy for more details on qualifications and processes.
When you print your free return shipping label, you can drop off your return package at any UPS location or schedule a free at-home pickup. Refunds are issued once the return is processed at our returns facility, typically within 10-15 business days.
For exchanges, we will reship your newly selected item(s) free of charge once we receive and process the original return. New items typically reship within 2-3 business days.
Please inspect all items immediately upon delivery before wearing, washing, or altering them in any way. Contact us within 30 days of original delivery for fastest service on any returns or exchanges needed.
Customs & Duties Fees
Since we currently only ship to addresses within the 48 contiguous United States, no international customs, import taxes/duties, or brokerage fees apply. Customers are responsible only for our quoted product costs and shipping rates at checkout.
Loss or Damage in Transit
Though rare, possible damage or lost packages can occur during the shipping process.
If there is obvious damage to the packaging on delivery that may have impacted enclosed items, keep all packaging materials and notify the carrier immediately regarding the situation. Refuse the shipment if necessary.
Then, contact White House Black Market Customer Service as soon as possible and we will open an investigation with the carrier’s Claims team. Typically we require digitally photographed images of any damage for the claim.
For lost packages, we similarly work closely with the carrier to search locations closely and determine next steps. If after 7 days past the max delivery timeframe your order is still missing, contact us so we can escalate as needed.
In either damage or loss scenarios, White House Black Market issues appropriate refunds or replacements as we work through the claims process with the carrier on your behalf.
High value orders over $200 automatically require an adult signature upon delivery before packages can be left at an address. This helps ensure security against loss or theft.
Carriers may use signature release options like signing for an order on a mobile device due to COVID-19 safety policies. But a confirming name is still collected.
If no adult is available to sign at time of attempted delivery, the carrier will leave an info notice on how to reschedule delivery or pickup at their hub location. Failure to eventually pickup after multiple attempts typically results in a shipment being returned to White House Black Market as undeliverable.
We primarily ship orders through national carriers United Parcel Service (UPS) and Federal Express (FedEx). We determine the best carrier to use based on your delivery destination upon order.
You can sign up for email and/or text notifications directly from these carriers using the provided tracking number to closely monitor your shipment’s progress after it leaves our fulfillment centers.
For store pickup orders, shipments are handled through our private carrier network from fulfillment centers to store locations. Tracking is not available for these types of direct store transfers.
There are few scenarios where we cannot ship to a valid U.S. address, but some restrictions or extra requirements apply:
We are happy to ship to military addresses abroad and typically use USPS for these scenarios. Customers may need to provide both the military shipping address as well as an alternative U.S. address for import custom forms. Contact Customer Service with any questions for these non-domestic orders.
For gifts like our signature candles or other alcohol-inspired products, carrier rules typically dictate an adult signature requirement regardless of order value thresholds. Please ensure someone 21 years or older with valid ID will be available to sign at time of alcohol order delivery. We cannot complete alcohol orders otherwise.
Other Restricted Items
In rare cases, certain products may face shipment restrictions not made aware to us before listing online incorrectly. If we cannot fulfill part or all of an order due to restrictions around specific items, we will contact you immediately with details on impacted products and discuss alternatives like substitutions, order cancelations, or refunds as you prefer. Our goal is always open communication to meet customer needs despite unexpected shipping issues.
